Press Release   •   Aug 30, 2018 07:00 GMT

On August 30, 2018, Smart Grid Networks’ company name changes to AddSecure Smart Grids.

On August 30, 2018, Smart Grid Networks’ company name changes to AddSecure Smart Grids. Smart Grid Networks has previously been part of AddSecure and is now under the same brand. At the same time, the company is expanding its international activities in smart grid technology.

Smart Grid Networks, offering smart and secure communications solutions within electricity, water and wastewater, has been part of AddSecure since November 2016, where smart grids have become an important growth area.

"Smart Grid Networks has since 2011 helped the Nordic electricity industry to switch to intelligent (smart) networks. In connection with the change of our company name, we are entering a new and exciting phase, where our well-established position in the Nordic market is a solid foundation as we aim to establish ourselves stronger in Europe," says Erling Gustafsson, Business Manager at AddSecure Smart Grids.

Smart grids both profitable and environmentally friendly

Smart grid technology can create many positive effects for European energy suppliers, says Gustafsson. Among the benefits are increased profitability for both suppliers and consumers, easier maintenance and improved quality of power grids. In addition, the environmental impact is reduced as a result of lower energy consumption.

Strengthens the brand

"As AddSecure continues to strengthen its position within the Internet of Things (IoT) and secured critical communications with an ambition to grow in Europe, we need to gather our expertise in our different segments under one and the same strong brand," says Stefan Albertsson, CEO of AddSecure.

The fact that Smart Grid Networks is renamed AddSecure Smart Grids will be visible both on products and in all marketing communications in the future.
